Ecologically clean honey should become a trend among beekeepers. This is the opinion of several regional beekeepers, who say that the classical method of obtaining honey is not the best for consumption, and because it is unfair competition to the ecologic producers.
Svetlana Mandru, a beekeeper from Floresti, told the report from Info-Prim Neo that beekeepers should be more responsible, because buyers cannot test the quality of the honey that, regardless of the collection method, is marketed at the ecologically collected price, i.e. with a 20%-30% overpricing.
Beekeeper Jan Bojenov says that the promotion of the ecologic collection of honey requires financial support. We need many funds to create good living conditions for the bee swarms, especially during winter.
Maria Oanta, a beekeeper from Calarasi, believes that authorities should pay more attention to ecologic beekeeping, and should prohibit hormonal substances in the bees’ rations, or their prophylactic treatment with antibiotics.
Ecologically clean honey does not contain chemicals, and is obtained in an unpolluted and ecologically certified area. Although it is more expensive than traditionally collected honey, it is becoming increasingly popular on the international market for bio-products.
