Prices of diesel fuel and gasoline up again


A liter of diesel fuel on Tuesday will cost at most 26.87 lei, up 0.49 lei on today. A liter of gasoline COR 95 will be sold for at most 24.81 lei, up 0.24 lei. The price ceilings for fuel products of the standard type were set by the National Agency for Energy Regulation.

Moldova is fully supplied with electricity by MGRES

Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, said that as from 11 October, 3am, the Republic of Moldova has been fully supplied with electrical energy by MGRES (Kuchurgan Power Plant). This is possible because Moldovagaz allocated an additional amount of 0.9 million cubic meters of gas to MGRES for producing the electricity needed for 24 hours. The measures were taken after Russian missiles hit energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine and caused a halt in the export of electrical energy to the EU and Moldova.

Price of diesel fuel up 0.5 lei, gasoline close to 25 lei liter

A liter of diesel fuel on Wednesday will be sold for at most 27.39 lei, up 0.5 lei on today. A liter of gasoline COR 95 will cost at most 25 lei, up 0.19 lei. The price ceilings for fuel products of the standard type were set by the National Agency for Energy Regulation.

Deputy Premier Andrei Spînu calls on citizens to save as much as possible

Given that the necessary amount of electricity is fully purchased from the Kuchurgan Power Plant, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu calls on the people to economize. The Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development urged the citizens to save electrical energy within possibilities between 7am and 10am and between 6pm and 11pm. The public institutions will also resort to saving. According to the Deputy Premier, the saving will enable the country to have electricity without intervening in the daily activities. The rationalization of power consummation is essential until suitable financial solutions are identified.

“One person cannot change things, but a whole country can! I ask each of you to make effort today, tomorrow and in the immediate period. As Ukraine cannot supply electricity to us and we have to use the stored gas to receive the necessary electricity from MGRES, it is essential for us to economize as much as we can,” Andrei Spînu posted on his Facebook page.

NAER approves higher electricity charges

Household customers in the center and south of the country that are serviced by Premier Energy SRL will pay 3.15 lei/kWh, by 0.51 lei or 21.6% more than now (VAT excluded). For household customers in northern Moldova that are serviced by Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord SA, the new electricity charge will be 3.21 lei/kWh, up 0.35 lei. The charges approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation are slightly lower than those requested by the suppliers. The new prices will start to be applied when they are published in the Official Gazette.

The higher electricity charges will start to be applied after the National Agency for Energy Regulation’s relevant decision is published in the Official Gamete, not retroactively as it was rumored, one of the Agency’s directors Violina Șpac explained. “Household end users will pay a charge without VAT, while the non-household ones will pay a VAT rate of 20%. This is a rule for the electric power sector,” Violina Șpac told a news conference.

Moldovan producers can export walnut saplings to EU

The producers in the Republic of Moldova are able to export walnut saplings to the EU. Following amendments made to the legislation of the European Union, it is allowed importing from Moldova grafted walnut saplings (Juglans regia L) intended for planting and parent stock younger than two years with empty roots, in vegetative recess, without leaves. The National Food Safety Agency recommends those interested to start negotiations with partners from EU member states so as to establish commercial relations and supply this product to the EU.

A truck with apples was unloaded in front of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry on Wednesday. The producer this way expressed his dissatisfaction with the impossibility of exporting the grown apples following the ban imposed by the Russian Federation. People passing by came and loaded their bags up with apples. Contacted by IPN for a comment, Daniela Turculeț, senior consultant of the Ministry’s Media Relations Service, said that today’s event was political in character and the institution will not comment on the actions and initiatives of political parties therefore.

Moldovan wines and brandies to reach Azerbaijani stores

Moldovan wines, sparkling wines and brandies will be retailed in Azerbaijan, after a delegation headed by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița facilitated in Baku the negotiation of distribution contracts with several retail chains. The first batch of Barza Albă brandies will reach Azerbaijani shelves already at the beginning of November.

Moldova could buy electricity from Romania at lower price than market prices


The Republic of Moldova will be able to purchase electric power from Romania at the price of 450 RON/MWh, which is equal to about 90 EUR/MWh. This price is lower than the market prices and Moldova as from October 14 can this way secure the 30% of electricity that it can no longer receive from Ukraine, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu informed through social media. According to the official, this became possible after the Government of Romania amended the national legislation on October 12 following discussions with the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The Government of Romania adopted an emergency ordinance providing that the electric power producers are obliged to sign bilateral contracts within the limits of the available quantities primarily with electricity traders/suppliers designated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The Commission for Exceptional Satiations of Moldova designated Energocom.

Vadim Ceban: We have gas for October and negotiate amounts needed in November


The reduction of consumption and the savings made by Moldovagaz enable to ensure the amount of gas needed in October, said the president of the Administration Board of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban. According to him, Moldova can experience problems in the supply with natural gas as from November. Talks are being held with Gazprom for this to provide the necessary amounts but discussions are also held with Romania so that Moldova could buy gas from the neighboring country if need be.
