Road bypassing Ungheni town will be ready by next October


The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, together with supervising engineers of the consortium WSP Techinc and the contractor OHL, thought up a plan of measures to increase the pace and finish the works to build the road that bypasses Ungheni town until October 2017.

Forest sector necessitates investment of about 200m lei

The Ministry of Environment proposed the draft plan of action for implementing the national forest sector sustainable development strategy for 2017-2020 for public debates. The plan includes 65 measures aimed at improving policies typical of the sector and the framework that regulates activity in the financial-forest sector, at expanding wooded areas and sustainably developing forest resources, etc.

Local authorities to set property tax exemption themselves

The highest tax rate on residential property in 2017 will be 0.4%, up from 0.3%. The lowest tax rate remained 0.05%. For non-residential and agricultural property, the lowest tax rate will be 0.1%, while the highest rate 0.3%. The rates are set by the local public authorities.

State Register of Animals to be kept in Moldova

Moldova will have a State Register of Animals. A draft decision to this effect was proposed for debates by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The State Register of Animals will include systematized information for identifying and tracing animals. It will be the only official source of information about farms and animals kept there.

Almost 35m lei collected as property tax in state budget

More than half of the private individuals who possess housing property whose total value is 1.5 million lei and more and whose total area is 120 square meters and more paid 34.8 million in property tax to the state. The sum that is collected into the state budget as property tax totals 50 million lei.

● WEDNESDAY, January 04

New computer work requirements for employers

The employers must plan the activities of employees who work at computer monitor so that they work with interruptions, by breaks or shifts. Such provisions are contained in the minimum security and safety at work requirements for computer work that took effect on January 1, 2017. These refer to the jobs created after this date. The jobs created before this date must be adjusted so that they meet the current requirements within one year of the mentioned date.

Contest to fill vacancy of NAER director

Parliament announced a contest to fill the vacant post of director of the Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER). The candidates must have Moldovan nationality, integrated higher education in technology, economy, financing or law and at least 10 years’ working experience in one of these areas and at least three years’ experience in an administrative post.

2017 will be better than 2016 from economic viewpoint. Agriculture, trade and investments are the main areas that will make progress. The tariffs of electricity, natural gas and heat will be increased, experts of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” Veaceslav Ionita and Victor Parlicov anticipated in the talk show “60 minutes of economic realism”.

Hotbeds of African swine fever in Moldova declared free from virus

The National Food Safety Agency declared the hotbeds of African swine fever in Moldova free from the virus given that no new cases of infection were reported there. According to the Agency, there were no cases of African swine fever at national pig farms either, while lab tests are negative at all stages.

Mobiasbanca shareholder complains she got no dividends during 15 years

A woman who owns shares in the commercial bank Mobiasbanca said she hasn’t been paid dividends that now came to 6 million lei during 15 years. Iulia Deleu said she became shareholder of the bank in 1996 and benefitted from dividends only during the first few years, owning 2% of the bank’s shares. According to Iulia Deleu, when the contract was signed, the bank assumed the obligation to annually pay dividends, but this wasn’t done. The dividends stopped to be paid after the bank informed her that it signed agreements with the State Tax Inspectorate for benefiting from tax concessions on condition that dividends are not distributed to shareholders. But the Inspectorate actually didn’t impose such conditions and the bank misled the shareholders in the period.

Revenues collected by State Tax Service in 2016 higher than a year before

The State Tax Service in 2016 collected by 11% (+2.7bn lei) higher revenues into the national public budget that a year before. These came to 27.6bn lei. In a press release, the Service says the task was to collect 27.35bn lei, but it collected by 272m lei more.
