Tax Service says who can benefit from personal exemption in 2022


The State Tax Service reminds that each private individual who is a taxpayers with a taxable annual income smaller than 360,000 lei has the right to an annual personal exemption of 27,000 lei for 2022. The personal exemption for a taxable income larger than 360,000 lei cannot be used. The institution noted the given provisions do not affect the taxpayers’ right to benefit from the exemptions granted to the husband or wife and the exemptions for maintained persons in the conditions stipulated by the Tax Code.

Government approves ratification of agreement on participation in Fiscalis


The Government approved the ratification of the agreement on the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the EU cooperation program Fiscalis.

“The program Fiscalis will support cooperation with the tax administrations of the EU member states and will contribute to collecting taxes, fighting tax fraud and tax evasion through efficient information systems, exchange of good practices and joint actions to manage risks,” said Minister of Finance Veronica Sirețeanu. 

Moldova entrepreneurs invited to Economic Forum in Arad

The entrepreneurs of the Republic of Moldova are expected to take part in the International Economic Forum “Relaunch of Development and Cooperation” that will be held in Romania’s Arad on May 4-6, IPN reports.

The third edition of the Economic Forum in Arad is intended for experienced entrepreneurs and beginners who are looking for efficient business strategies. The event will bring together entrepreneurs from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine, Italy and not only, offering a platform to promote businesses and to develop relations between companies.

Dumitru Alaiba: Ltd Reform envisions significant innovations in legal framework


The minority associate of a limited liability company (Ltd), which owns less than 50% of the share capital, will have the right to withdraw from the company without needing the consent of the other associates. The current legislation does not envision this. The measure is contained in the so-called Ltd Reform that was presented in a press briefing by Minister of Economy Dumitru Alaiba.

According to the minister, the reform launched today envisions significant innovations in the legal framework, which will facilitate a number of procedures within the Ltd. The profit will be divided in a simpler way, as the associates will decide by common consent, regardless of the owned shareholding, not needing to have equal holdings as now.

Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu hopes to further develop and deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation with China, and to  welcome more Chinese tourists.


China's economic vitality in recent decades is impressive, Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu told Xinhua in a recent interview, expressing his hope to further develop and deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation and to be able to welcome more Chinese tourists in his country.

Prices of gasoline and diesel fuel go down

The price of diesel fuel declines to under 21 lei liter. A liter of gasoline the next three days will cost at most 20.64 lei, down 0.20 lei. A liter of gasoline will be sold for 24.97 lei, down 0.24 lei. The National Agency for Energy Regulation said the prices were set according to the latest developments on the international market.

Citizens can ask to be refunded extra paid or deducted income tax to Tax Service

The persons who want to be refunded the extra paid or deducted income tax can file applications to the State Tax Service as from May 3.

In a press release, the State Tax Service says the applications to be refunded the extra paid or deducted income will start to be examined on May 3 this year as the period during which tax returns for 2022 can be submitted by private individuals ends on May 2. As an exception, the application is examined on the date of submission if the person intends to change the permanent domicile in the Republic of Moldova.

IBRD provides US$55m loan in support of Moldova’s agricultural sector

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will offer Moldova a US$55 million loan. They money will be used by agricultural and processing companies to improve production processes and to increase capacities of accessing the foreign market.

As a result, the irrigation infrastructure will be improved and centralized irrigations systems in the localities of Tudora, Tețcani and Etulia will be renovated, it is said in a press release issued by Moldova’s Parliament.

Air Moldova cancels all flights Apr. 21- 25

Air Moldova has announced it’s cancelling all its scheduled flights from April 21 to April 25 citing financial strain.

“We are forced to cancel our flights during April 21-25, 2023 due to a lack of financial resources needed for the company’s operations. Unfortunately, we note that all the effort and actions taken by the Air Moldova’s team to manage the situation in which the company has found itself at the moment have not yielded results”, the airline said in a press release.

● SATURDAY, April 22

Air Moldova restores some of its canceled flights


Air Moldova announced it would be able to operate some of the flights it canceled earlier due to financial strain. These will be the round-trip flights to Bologna on April 23, Tbilisi on April 24, and Verona on April 25.

“Our team continues to work hard to manage the situation. Every flight operated or restored is due to a colossal effort. Next week, the Air Moldova administration will negotiate with potential investors an action plan to overcome the company’s difficulties”, the airline said in a press release.
