The European Commission is financing a €2 million project that will enable 200 young people to get employed in the public and private sector and 600 others to be trained in entrepreneurship, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The project was presented on Tuesday by Ghenadie Cretu, Program Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration's Mission to Moldova, at a meeting of the Governmental Commission on Youth Policy.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the Government will create the conditions necessary for young people to start businesses or find jobs at home, instead of looking to go abroad. “We should monitor this effectively in order to see not just the momentary impact of this new project, but also its sustainable effect. This is why I will request the governmental agencies to offer the support necessary for the implementation of this program”, said the Prime Minister.
Labor and Social Protection Minister Valentina Buliga said an important objective is to increase by at least 10% the number of fresh graduates within the first year after their graduation.
The Commission also discussed the need to adopt a financing mechanism for the youth resource centers. In this regard, Youth and Sports Minister Ion Cebanu said that 10 million lei were allocated from the State Budget for the youth centers across the country.
