As many as 210 kilometers of motorways will be rehabilitated under an agreement signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The financing agreement to the value of €150 million was signed by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and EBRD Director for Transport Sue Barett, IPN reports.
“About 100 people work on a construction site of 20 km. 92 of them are citizens of Moldova. They have competitive salaries of 4,000 6,000 or even 9,000 lei, depending on qualification,” said the Premier.
Iurie Leanca said that this is an investment in Moldova’s economy, in projects with social effect that are aimed at preparing qualified workers.
Sue Barett said that this is the EBRD’s 100th project in Moldova. The money will be disbursed in three tranches, depending on the progress made. “We want to support the growth and development of Moldova and this event matches perfectly this goal,” stated the EBRD Director for Transport.
