The Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists (EBCS) aims to extend the functionality of the system of electronic state services, in particular the simplification of the procedure for obtaining the electronic signature. The members of the bloc promise support for freelancers and to introduce a zero tax rate for startups and young companies operating in the IT sector during the first year of the start of the business. The measures form part of a program that, according to the authors, during the next years should become the driving engine of Moldova’s economy, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, Socialist MP Nichita Țurcan, who runs for MP on behalf of the EBCS, said the program was worked out by the Bloc’s team of specialists after consulting representatives of the IT sector and studying the good practices of other countries.

“We want the whole process to be improved so that through one website the persons could enroll the child at kindergarten or at school and could apply for any type of certificate. The people from my generation realize how easy it is to click on the smartphone than to wait in a line to get a document,” said the MP, explaining the necessity of extending the functioning of the system of electronic state services.

As to the support for freelancers, the EBCS suggests introducing the IT patent as an organization form that would enable to operate in this sector as simpler and transparently as possible in a move to keep the IT specialists and to create the most favorable conditions for them at home.

According to Nichita Țurcan, they also aim to create two IT hubs in the north and the south of Moldova so as to attract young professionals and international companies. “We must realize the human potential not only of the capital city, but also of regions. By supporting the IT sector, we will stimulate the development of local economy,” noted the MP.
