Easter Fair with items made by children

Painted eggs, paschal compositions, paintings, origami and other items made by children will be on display at an Easter Fair that will be opened at a mall in Chisinau on April 13, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the public organization “Filocalia” that stages the event. The Easter Fair forms part of the Spring from Children’s Souls Festival that is intended for disabled persons, orphans and children from socially underprivileged families. The festival aims to support through art the children who are often excluded from school activities owing to their state of health and social status. The project is designed to develop their creative abilities. Through the agency of the sale-exhibition, the children will be able to earn money and showcase their talents, said the organizers. An exhibition of photos showing children in the creative process will be set up within the festival. “Such exhibitions and fairs help the children become more confident in their own abilities,” said the head of “Filocalia” Larisa Ciobanu. The authors of the works that will be exhibited within the Spring from Children’s Souls Festival are members of social centers and schools, including the Social Center “St Dumitru” in Chisinau, the Social Center “St Filaret the Merciful” in Costesti, Ialoveni, the special school for children with physical disabilities in Calarasi, and the boarding school No.5 for children with physical disabilities in Chisinau. The second Spring from Children’s Souls Festival will take place between April 13 and May 6.
