About 100 children from the Municipal Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenco” were visited on Wednesday by high schools students from Chisinau. They received colored pencils, fruit, sweets and toys as presents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The “Help the Ones that Suffer” campaign was organized by the Local Council of Children and Youth that is part of the Adolescents’ Center of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport. This is the second campaign of the kind.
Students from “Gheorghe Asachi”, “Miguel de Cervantes”, “Mircea Eliade” and “Mihail Berezovschi” high schools and the administration of the Adolescents’ Center visited children that receive treatment in the neurology, cardiologic pediatrics, gastrology, rheumatology and uronephrology wards. Some of the children were taught to make origami.
“We wanted to bring joy to the suffering children and show to those that do not take care of their health that the older students can take care of the younger ones. We hope that we made them feel better,” said Valentina Sandu, the head of the Adolescents’ Center.
“The children are in hospital at a time when they should be at home on Easter. We wanted to make them forget about their pain for a while and their smiles told us that our efforts were not in vain.”
On Thursday, the caravan will go to National Asylum for Invalids and Old People.
