An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale has happened in Romania's Vrancea Mountains at a depth of 130 kilometers at 08.31 this morning. The quake was felt in Moldova as well, the head of the Academy of Sciences' Experimental Seismology Center Ilie Ilies has told Info-Prim Neo. In Chisinau, the quake had a magnitude of 3 of 12 degrees. The earthquakes that occur at a depth of 130 kilometers are felt better in central Moldova as the waves move towards North-East. This morning's quake was also felt in Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Greece, and Bulgaria. Ilie Ilies said the low-intensity quakes are high in number. They release the energy accumulated underground, preventing thus large earthquakes. An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale happened in the Vrancea Mountains at a depth of 120 kilometers on June 8. It was felt mainly in southern Moldova.
