An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 degrees on the Richter scale hit Romania at 14.52, being localized at the bend of the Carpathians in Vrancea.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 113 kilometers, according to the first localization.

The head of the Center for Experimental Seismology within the Geology and Seismology Institute in Chisinau, Ion Ilieş, told IPN that the earthquake was felt in the Republic of Moldova with an intensity of 2-3 degrees, especially in the southwestern part of the country.

Ion Ilies mentioned that the earthquake was the most significant of this year.
