Early intervention center opened in Balti

Children younger than three with development disorders, including disability or risk of appearance of disability, could receive appropriate assistance free at the first early intervention center that was opened in Balti. There, specialists will offer support to the children’s family.

According to CCF/HHC Moldova, the center is the first socio-medical assistance service of the kind in Balti municipality that will offer services to children in the town and those form the northern districts. A multidisciplinary team consisting of a pediatrician, psychologist, logopedist, kinetotherapist, medical assistant and social assistant will work at the center. The specialists will offer assistance to children with special needs and to parents in looking after children with special needs in the family.

“Now the children and parents can go to specialists and benefit from consultation and rehabilitation without traveling to Chisinau and enduring long hours of travel and useless costs. In the long term, the children’s recovery will be more efficient and effective,” said Liliana Rotaru, CCF/HHC Moldova president .

The socio-medical assistance service was created by CCF/HHC Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection. Approximately 556,000 lei was allocated for the center to be repaired and outfitted with what’s necessary. A part of the money was donated by a family from the UK, who are supporters of the organization Hope and Homes for Children UK, while the other part was raised as part of the campaign “Purpose of Fasting 2018”.
