Ten days remained until January 1, when the e-ticketing system is to start to be used on public transport in the municipality of Chisinau on a trial basis. Not even the policing routes have been chosen. Contacted by IPN for details, director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Dorin Chernyi said discussions with the Company haven’t been yet opened, but things definitely will move on.
Asked if the project will start on time, Dorin Chernyi said the project is the responsibility of deputy mayor Victor Chironda and the Public Transport and Communications Division.
The deputy mayor was unavailable for comment.
The municipal public transport companies during six months are to test the e-ticketing system on units of transport. At the piloting stage, e-ticketing will be used on a trolleybus route and a bus route, while the Chisinau Electric Transport Company and the Urban Bus Company will sign contracts with electronic ticketing service providers. The testing includes the installation of the necessary equipment and the training of employees of municipal public transport companies.
