In the first months of 2024, the automated information system “e-Prescription for compensated medicines and medical devices”, which is implemented on a trail basis, will be extended to cover a larger sample of users. Countrywide, the implementation is planned as from April, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) specified for IPN.
In a discussion with journalists, CNAM director general Ion Dodon said the information system was already designed by the developer contracted by the Company. The system was tested by employees of the Company and also by health workers and pharmacists from Hancesti district. The faults in functioning identified at the testing stage were reported and removed.
“Thanks to the electronic prescription, doctors and pharmacists will be able to communicate directly to clarify particular specific situations. They will have access to a database with all prescriptions for compensated medicines and medical devices that were prescribed and dispensed, which will enable to swiftly obtain updated information,” the National Health Insurance Company said.
Among the advantages of the AIS “e-Prescription for compensated medicines and medical devices” are the swift and easy access to prescriptions for patients, reduction of time and human errors in prescribing, processing and issuing prescriptions, effective monitoring of the use of compensated medicines and medical devices.
