Though Termocom is supplying heat at minimum temperatures – 60 degrees when going out and 45-47 degrees when returning – the warm weather and the fear the heating bills will be exorbitant made the dwellers of half of the municipal buildings and a large part of other types of houses to refuse to be supplied with heat, deputy mayor of Chisinau Vlad Cotet announced Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the deputy mayor, the dwellers of the rest of the buildings economize on heat and turn the heating system on only during the day or at night.
Petru Gontea, the head of the Public Amenities Division, said that if the persons responsible for the heat meters do their jobs, the heating bills for this October do not exceed the sums for last October.
SA Termocom head Mihai Cernei said at least five accidents in the heating system are recorded daily owing to the permanent connections and disconnections from the heat supply. Earlier, there were no such accidents, he stated.
The heating season in Chisinau in 2009 started on October 15, while this year – on October 6. Traditionally, the education and medical institutions are the first that are supplied with heat. The housing stock follows next.
