During two months’ trial, Tax Inspectorate’s Call Center offered 1,500 consultations

During the over two months’ trial, the Call Center of the State Main Tax Inspectorate has provided 1,500 consultations. “The Call Center’s aim is to improve the quality of the services offered to taxpayers by using efficient information methods,” the Inspectorate’s head Victor Coada said during the inauguration of the Center on March 19, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Call Center founded on the basis of the experience of the Lithuanian tax authorities started work on January 12. During the over two months’ trial, the seven employees of the Center received about 1,500 questions from taxpayers concerning the calculation and payment of the income tax and presentation of income statements and provided expert answers,” Coada said.
The constancy is offered free of charge in the official and Russian languages between 08.00 and 17.00 on the short number (0) 1525.
The Center’s webpage is now being devised. Every taxpayer could read the most frequent questions and answers on the side. Victor Coada said that in the near future, the consultants of the Call Center will provide answers to questions about the property tax.
The Call Center was created under Moldova’s Millennium Challenge Corporation Threshold Country Program with the aim of reducing the human factor in the relations between the Tax Inspectorate and taxpayers and of preventing and combating corruption.
Attending the inaugural ceremony, USAID program coordinator Garry Linden said that no one likes to pay taxes. That’s why it is very important that the taxpayers are provided with clear explanations for what and how much they must pay, in transparent conditions.
