President Igor Dodon should overcome particular feelings and should cooperate with the parliamentary majority. An impeachment is not wanted, the president of honor of the Democratic Party (PDM) Dumitru Diacov stated in the talk show “Important” on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.

“Dodon understands very well that he will be unable to change the European course. When he was invested, he said he will detach himself from the party and will be the President of everyone. He should be more cooperative with the parliamentary majority if he wants to do something for the country. If he permanently breaks the Constitution, he could be subject to impeachment. I really do not want an impeachment. We do not need a new scandal,” stated the Democratic heavyweight.

In the program, Dumitru Diacov pleaded for relations of friendship with the Russian Federation. “Moscow wants us to be a predictable state. But how should a state react when a party leader with several seats in Parliament scares us with the hand of Moscow and Russian tanks. We should follow the European development path, but should also have good relations with the Russian Federation,” he stated.

The president of honor of the PDM noted the Liberals’ refusal to vote for the introduction of the uninominal voting system will not be used as a reason for removing these from government. “They will leave government when they want. The withdrawal of the Liberals from power depends on them. We want to keep this coalition and this Government until the future elections,” stated Dumitru Diacov.
