Half a year after taking over, representatives of the government admit that they feel the dissatisfaction of a part of society. The head of the Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance Dumitru Alaiba said not enough time passed for seeing concrete results that would visibly improve the lives of people. He is confident that during its mandate, the current government will manage to change things in Moldova and to ensure a predictable development course, IPN reports.

Dumitru Alaiba said the current government, after taking over, has made effort to identify solutions to the energy, economic and health crises that hit Moldova. The energy problems most seriously affected the Government’s capacity to start systemic reforms that would improve the living conditions.

“We have yet three years and a half at our disposal to accelerate and deliver results so that the people have money in pockets and enjoy better living conditions. This is what the people expect and also justice and confidence in tomorrow. During three years and a half, the country can be placed in an irreversible development path,” Dumitru Alaiba stated in the talk show “The Fourth Easter” on N4 TV channel.

According to t
he PAS MP, the unpredictability on the energy market and the rise in natural gas rates affect the ruling party’s image.

“We feel a particular level of dissatisfaction but this is explicable. The people see the rising bills and gradually lose their balance. It is easy to explain that this happens everywhere in the world, but when you see that the bill rises each month and you don’t know what this will stop, you evidently lose your balance and I really realize what many people in our country feel,” stated Dumitru Alaiba.

He said yet that some of the areas were mangled efficiently and professionally. The minimum pension was raised to 2,000 lei and the legislation was improved.

The MP also said that an extraordinary sitting of Parliament could be called for January 20 to adopt the draft financing agreement with the International Monetary Fund. A decision is to be taken by the Standing Bureau.
