In three years of the fall of the regime led by Vlad Plahotniuc, the regulatory institutions are yet full of people of the former leader of the Democratic Party (PDM), said PAS MP Dumitru Alaiba according to whom the process of cleaning the regulatory institutions is very difficult as these entities are independent, while the Party of Action and Solidarity does not want to break the law, IPN reports.

According to Dumitru Alaiba, even if the cleaning of the system from the former Democratic leader’s people was one of the electoral promises of PAS, the regulatory institutions are full of the people of the former regime. The system was cleaned at the level of secretaries of state, but it is very hard to clear the regulatory institutions.

“The regulatory institutions are full of Plahotniuc’s people. It is harder to clean the regulatory institutions. We govern legally, not unlawfully. The cleanup goes on, but cannot be done overnight. The people at the central bank have worked there since the regime of Plahotniuc and I sometimes have questions about their decisions. But there will be an assessment report on the institution’s work. The Court of Auditors is an independent institution. The oligarchs took care to have representatives in such institutions from which it is very hard to remove them. We promised we will remove everyone, but we also promised that we will act legally,” PAS MP Dumitru Alaiba stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.

The head of Watchdog community Valeriu Pașa said the current government turned out to be impotent against the power of the system and the people who committed illegalities under the democratic government are not penalized.

“In 2019, all Plahotniuc’s people got scared, including those from the justice sector. After three years, these people saw that no one is in jail and few criminal cases were started. These cases are delayed and are evidently sabotaged by prosecutors. Plahotniuc’s people sleep well at night as they know that dismissal is the only bad thing that can happen to them. They realized that they can cheat the new political class,” stated Valeriu Pașa.

The former Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc appeared in public last time on June 9, 2019, during a protest mounted in the center of Chisinau. Sever talk days later, PDM informed by a press release that Vlad Plahotniuc left Moldova to join his family. Later, the ex-president of PDM was accused of creating and managing a criminal organization, swindle and money laundering.
