The elimination of useless bureaucracy and reduction of the administrative and bureaucratic burden on entrepreneurs remain on the current government’s list of objectives, said Deputy Premier Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitization, who on Thursday presented bureaucracy reduction package No. 4 to ease business doing, IPN reports.
The minister said the new initiative to reduce bureaucracy in the national economy will offer entrepreneurs more development space. Among the announced changes are the annulment of the register of complaints and the extension of the period during which the seller can repair or replace products from 14 days to at most 30 days in particular situations, as the sellers often do not manage physically to repair particular goods during such a short period of time.
As to the development of the tourism sector, in particular rural tourism, Dumitru Alaiba said that a number of bureaucratic procedures and unjustified requirements that impose restrictions on rural houses will be reduced.
The minister noted that rural entrepreneurs need support to develop, not limitations and bans. “There are limitations referring to the number of rooms and tourists, to the assortment of products used to serve tourists. Currently, the law says the tourists at the rural house should be served only food made from own products or from products acquired in the own locality or neighboring localities. If these provisions are removed, the rural houses will enjoy greater space to decide what kind of services and goods to offer to tourists,” said Dumitru Alaiba.
The official also said that the commodities exchanges authorized in EU member states will be recognized when these register officially as a legal entity in Moldova. “We have had legislation on commodities exchanges since 1998, since the previous century I note, but we do not have a commodities exchange. This is a very useful instrument for ensuring transparency in the purchase of food products to fuels, materials and others. That’d why we want to open this market to eventual commodities exchanges authorized, licensed in the European Union,” stated Dumitru Alaiba.
According to the Deputy Premier, the modernization of commodities exchanges will include the authorization of electronic transactions, management of several types of markets and diversification of commodity contracts.
Bureaucracy reduction package No. 4 to ease business doing is to be proposed for internal consultations in the Cabinet.
