The PAS group MP, ACUM bloc, Dumitru Alaiba, requests the Public Services Agency to issue reasons for the block of the access to the State Register of legal persons. In a personal blog post, Dumitru Alaiba said that this decision does not reflect the views of the current government and that this action can qualify as sabotage.
"I would like to emphasize that the name of a company registered in the Republic of Moldova, its administrators, founders and their shares, regardless of their citizenship, fiscal code or legal address, are not personal data", highlighted the MP in his request submitted to the Public Services Agency.
Dumitru Alaiba considers this block an attempt to destroy a reform with the potential to prevent corruption. "I call on you to correct the situation. (...) Technical problems can't be used as an excuse and justification", the MP wrote.
Additionally, Dumitru Alaiba wrote that he noticed too many "technical problems" meant to curb transparency, while none occurred to advance it. "I request information regarding taken corrective actions to be provided as soon as possible, but not later than the deadlines stipulated in the legislation", said Dumitru Alaiba.
The MP explained that the request was issued after he found out that the Public Services Agency has suspended the access of legal persons to the State Register. Previously, legal persons could obtain free extracts with the company name, the tax id code, the names of the founders and the administrator's name. The Public Services Agency claims that the adjournment happened due to the suspension of the Webinfo service.
