DTV station resumes satellite broadcasting

The DTV station Thursday resumed its satellite broadcasting. Station director Ion Terguta has told Info-Prim Neo the re-launch has been especially programmed for the Ascension Day as a symbol of ascending and establishing relationships with the whole Globe. Earlier DTV shared channel 23 with the municipal station Euro-TV Chisinau. A yeare ago it was deprived of the possibility to use the frequency. After a number of attempts to get a terrestrial channel from the Broadcasting Coordinating Council, the DTV management decided simply to go via satellite. DTV can be received also in localities where there are cable TV facilities. The DTV manager says the satellite television is the television of tomorrow, using new equipment and technologies. DTV wants to be a station broadcasting news and current affairs. From Monday to Friday they will air 60-minute news at 7.00, 12.00, 14.00, 16.00, 18.00, 20.00 and 24.00. On Saturdays and Sundays the station will broadcast analytical programs and documentaries. The main policy DTV will stick to is impartiality, as the debates will have as invitees different politicians, analysts and opinion leaders. DTV employs 70 people, of which 20 work in the News Department.
