According to a communique from the government press service, during a working meeting Vasile Tarlev underlined the necessity of hastening the process of creating a network of drugstores or drugstore units in all rural localities to ensure the permanent access of the population to qualitative medicines. The implementation of the Automated Informational System “State Drugs List” essentially increased the transparency of quality evidence of pharmaceutical products sold to the population, and reduced tax evasion in this field, General Director of the Drug Agency Vladimir Verdes said. Over the years 2005-2007 drugstores implementing this system have increased by over 235 percent their payments to the budget. Also, over the last two years, 650 new jobs have been created in the pharmaceutical field. At the moment, the set of products-programme for monitoring the drugs sold has been installed in the majority of pharmaceutical companies from municipalities and district centres, Verdes said.
