Police officers and prosecutors seized drugs to the value of 200,000 lei in a village of Cahul district. The hemp plants were cultivated in improvised laboratories, IPN reports, with reference to the Border Police.
During searches carried out at the homes and in cars used by the suspects, there were seized hemp plants planted in special conditions, processed hydroponic marijuana, special fertilizers and scales. A lethal firearm modified by hand was found at one of the addresses. Its purpose is yet to be determined.
The suspects face a maximum jail term of six years and ban on holding particular posts or performing a particular activity for a period of two to five years.
