Cystic fibrosis patents depending on the drug Colistin will be able to get it from the Dispensary for Rare Diseases starting Saturday after supply was resumed.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection recalls that it was left looking for alternative supply solutions after the previous provider, a Polish manufacturer, said exports of the antibiotic had to be cut due to deficit on the national market.
According to official data, there are 18 patients in Moldova who suffer from cystic fibrosis and depend on Colistin.
Cystic fibrosis is an incurable genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas and other organs.
