DRRM offers books and school supplies for 20,000 preschoolers and students of Moldova

At the beginning of the school year, the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM) provided educational kits with books and supplies for more than 20,000 preschoolers and primary and secondary school students. The donation is part of the “Pupil’s and Preschooler’s Box” project that covers almost 150 educational institutions in 22 districts of the Republic of Moldova. The project is implemented for the fourth consecutive year by the Romanian Government’s DRRM, IPN reports.

The first to enjoy the educational kit were the students of the Negureni Secondary School in Telenești district and those of the Ștefănești Secondary School in Florești district. They received books and school supplies from the state secretary of the DRRM Adrian Dupu. The next donations were for the students from of “Alexandru cel Bun” Theoretical High School, “Olimp” Theoretical High School, Kindergarten No. 2 “Andrieș” and Kindergarten No. 6, all situated in Rezina, and also for the students of the Sămășcani Secondary School in Șoldănești district.

“Through the “Pupil’s and Preschooler’s Box” project, we aim to support the education of the young generations in the Republic of Moldova, providing them with the necessary resources to contribute to the future of this country. Education is the foundation on which a strong society is built and we, in this way, reaffirm Romania’s commitment to support the citizens from the left bank of the Prut on their path to a prosperous and European future,” stated Adrian Dupu, being quoted in a press release.

Along with the state secretary of the DRRM, the events involved MP of the Republic of Moldova Larisa Novac, mayor of Negureni village Ion Popa, mayor of Ștefănești village Ludmila Zdraguș, mayor of Rezina Simion Tatarov, head of Șoldănești district Aliona Pinzari, actor Emilian Cretu, directors of schools and kindergartens, teachers, and dozens of students and parents.
