The Drochia-based sugar factory resumed the process of processing sugar beet that was interrupted after an accident on a gas pipe, Info-Prim Neo reports. The factory suspended work in order to avoid the breakdown of the equipment and pipes. The losses of sugar sustained after the supply of gas was stopped are estimated at 600 tonnes, the PR agency PARC Comunicatii said in a communiqué. After the pipes and tanks were washed and cleaned and the equipment was heated to optimal temperatures, the sugar factory was ready to continue producing sugar. A gas tube exploded on September 27 owing to the installation works performed by a company in the same period. The factory had to stop the process of processing sugar beet and extracting sugar.
