The director of a Balti driving school was sentenced to three years in jail and banned from holding posts in education institutions for a four-year period. The man was found guilty of influence peddling and was arrested in the courtroom, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the culprit was also obliged to pay 27,000 lei. He got the same amount for committing the offense. The court upheld the decision to sequestrate his property so as to make sure that the special confiscation decision is implemented.

The prosecution proved that the culprit asked and received 27,000 lei from a person for influencing public figures of the Balti Driver Qualification Section of the state-run Information Resources Center “Registru” to help this pass the driving test and obtain a driver’s license of categories “D” and “E”. This is not the first offense committed by the director. He was earlier given a suspended sentence for a similar offense.
