A driving instructor from Balti was arrested on passive corruption charges. He was caught in the act of taking bribe for the second time, IPN has learned from the National Anticorruption Center.
According to the denouncer, the instructor, together with other persons from the driving school, asked for €300 from him for helping him pass the driving test and obtain a driver’s license. The man was arrested immediately after he took the money. He will be initially held for 72 hours.
The driving instructor faces 5 to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to 160,000 lei. He will be also banned from holding particular public posts or performing particular activities for a period of 7 to 10 years.
When he took the bribe the first time, the Balti Municipal Court fined him 15,000 lei.
