The drivers who spatter water or mud on pedestrians are liable to a fine of 60 lei, as provided by the Code of Administrative Offenses.
Asked by IPN about the procedure, press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Uliana Catan said the pedestrians must present themselves at the police station with the dirty clothes and write a complaint, where to specify the model of the car, the color and the license number.
Afterward, the driver is called to the police station to be fined.
Uliana Catan said that no case of fining drivers for splashing pedestrians have been reported so far.
