Drivers who park illegally will be punished administratively

Dorin Chirtoaca requested the municipal police chief Silviu Musuc to promote changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses so as to toughen up the penalties for drivers who park the vehicles illegally. He asked that things be hastened so that a bill with amendments can be examined by the commissions in the spring session. Special emphasis should be put on the amendment that will enable taking away the vehicles parked illegally, Info-Prim Neo reports. “All the discussions about the fluidization of traffic and illegal parking and stopping are worthless if the legislation is not amended,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. Silviu Musuc said they proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses last year and the changes are to be implemented this year. He also said that the penalties imposed at present do not produce results. As many as 265 license plates were confiscated from vehicles parked illegally last week alone.
