Motorists are obliged to travel with car headlights on during the day as of November 1. Press officer of the National Public Security Inspectorate Natalia Golovko has told IPN that the drivers who do not obey this requirement are stopped and warned verbally.

According to the police, travelling with the headlights on diminishes the risk of road accidents owing to unstable weather that in the period is accompanied by rain and fog. Such weather conditions significantly reduce visibility in traffic.

Drivers need to travel with headlights on during the day until March 31 inclusive. Earlier, the motorists who traveled with the fog lights off were fined 60 lei, but the penalty stopped being imposed in April 2014, when the law was amended.
