Drivers are stopped and asked by students – junior police officers of the National Patrolling Inspectorate about the significance of the national flag at the intersection of a number of streets in Chisinau. The event is held in connection with the celebration of the National Flag and Coat of Arms Day on April 27, IPN reports.

In the morning, children released tricolor balloons into the sky in the central square of Chisinau. Later, police cars and almost 50 bikers went on a column along the streets of Chisinau, carrying the national flag. In the course of the day, teams of the National Patrolling Inspectorate will stop at a number of intersections, where junior police officers will ask drivers about the significance of the flag and coat of arms.

According to the Inspectorate’s press officer Alina Bunghez, the goal of the event is to promote the flag and coat of arms. “A separate goal is to promote patriotism among the young generation. That’s why children of the juniors platoon of the NPI were involved,” she stated.

Junior police officer Daniel Jenati said the flag means esteem and love for the country.

The drivers who will be stopped will be given calendars in the colors of the tricolor.
