The driver’s licenses issued by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Germany will be mutually recognized by accepting the theory test, while the practical driving test will be taken mandatorily. A declaration of intent to this effect was signed din Berlin, IPN reports.
At the request or the authorities, a medical specialty certificate to confirm the physical and mental abilities will need to be presented.
According to the signed declaration, the driver’s licenses held by persons who have ordinary residence in the Federal Republic of Germany (at least 185 days a year) for categories A1, A2, A, B, BE, C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D and DE will be transliterated. Also, the holders of the driver’s license that is to be converted will need to pay the internal taxes set by the authorities.
