The motorist who mortally hit a nine-year-old girl by his car on Grenoble St in the capital city three days ago didn’t have a driver’s license and was speeding, deputy head of the Chisinau Police Division Silviu Musuc said in the March 14 meeting of officials of municipal services and divisions, IPN reports.

The 22-year-old driver is a fifth-year student of a Chisinau-based university. Contacted by IPN, the Police Division’s press officer Natalia Stati said that the driver was placed under arrest for 72 hours initially. Afterward, the court decided to transfer him under house arrest.
