Driver who killed two and injured three gets five years

The driver who a year ago struck five young persons in Straseni town by his car, killing two of them, was sentenced to five years in jail and banned from driving a vehicle for a period of five years, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The accident happened last May. According to prosecutors, the 27-year-old man was driving under the influence. The struck young people were aged between 15 and 27. They were returning from a disco. Two men died several days after the accident as a result of their injuries. The prosecutors said the sentence was too mild and announced they will appeal it.
