Driver who hit and killed two young women sentenced to 7 years

The driver who hit and killed two young women on the Chisinau-Soroca road, two years ago, was sentenced to 7 years in jail and banned from driving for 4 years, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man was driving at 80 km/h and hit two young women, aged 17 and 18, near Orhei town. The women had just got off a minibus on which they returned from Chisinau. The victims were hospitalized, but couldn’t be saved. The man is 53 years old. He can appeal his sentence in the higher court.
