Driver injured while dealing with burning car

A 48-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital with burns that she received when trying to extinguish by herself the fire that engulfed her car on Varlaam St in Causeni town. Emergencies Service press officer Dorina Cruc said it is not yet known how the fire started. Firefighters intervened and put it out. The same day, September 7, a man aged 61 from Pociumbeni village of Rascani district drowned in the Ciuhur River. His body was taken out by co-villagers. A number of 172 drownings have been recorded in Moldova this year. The waters took the lives of 28 children, 23 women and 121 men aged between 18 and 65.
