Two new types of drinking water that went on sale in Moldova can help the population to easier cope with the high temperatures this summer. “aqua unIQa Light” and “aqua unIQa Lemon” are derivatives of the Moldovan brand “aqua unIQa”. The first has a low content of minerals (without salts), while the second contains lemon juice and sugar, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting sources in the Sangerei-based water producer Gelibert. “We know the European traditions and thus decided to ensure the national consumers' access to healthy drinking water without salts. “aqua unIQa Light”can be used daily to relax the body. The taste of the water and its assortment create an attractive and credible image,” said the company's manager for quality Andrei Sarbu. Marketing Department head Ion Nicorici said “aqua unIQa” is drunk in academic institutions, free enterprise zones, new media trusts, elite football clubs, children's homes and orphanages, state public institutions, schools and in the families who lead a healthy lifestyle. We trust in the national consumers and are glad that they already formed a correct water drinking culture,” Ion Nicorici said. According to him, the new products are available from every retail outlet. The water is carbonated, weekly carbonated and flat and is sold in bottles of 1.5 litres, 2 litres, 6 litres, and 19 litres. Andrei Sarbu said the drinking water with lemon juice and sugar “aqua unIQa Lemon” has an incredible capacity to quench thirst and is designed to meet the increased demand for drinking water in the summer period. “We borrowed the idea from abroad. We made everything possible to provide an useful alternative for our consumers in the hot period,” he said. After putting the new “aqua unIQa” products on sale – iodinated drinking water, drinking water with a low content of minerals and drinking water with lemon juice and sugar, the sales rose by over 240%. Despite the economic crisis, Gelibert increased the market share of the water “aqua unIQa” by 3%, to 22% of the mineral waters sold in Moldova.
