The drinking water in the municipality of Chisinau will no more be treated with gaseous chlorine. A relevant initiative of the water supplier SA Apa-Canal Chisinau will be discussed in an investment forum that will take place in the capital city on April 13 and 14, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Apa-Canal Chisinau has been considering the possibility of using another disinfectant. It is evident that the switchover is very important for the residents of the municipality, but it is also a difficult procedure that implies costs,” said the company’s director Constantin Becciev. The water supplier already worked out the switchover strategy and hopes to obtain a grant of €3 million from the EU for this project. The possibility of attracting other investors will be discussed in the forthcoming forum. About 30 water treatment companies from Romania, the U.S. and other countries are expected to take part in the forum.
