The board of the “Drebozaci” agricultural enterprise that rents land from Drepcăuți locals, in Briceni district, and a group of locals who want for the enterprise to continue its activity, are accusing the town mayor Ghenadie Ioxa of official misconduct. They say that the mayor’s illegal activities has left them without a tractor unit and the grain warehouse that belonged to the agricultural enterprise. They ask Chișinău law enforcement to get involved.
In a press release at IPN, “Drebozaci” Ltd Administrator Vasile Şincariuc said that obstruction of the company’s activity has begun in 2015, new attempts bringing increasingly tougher obstacles. These are mostly manifested through falsification of documents and subletting of land plots that are under the management of the enterprise. As a result of the mayor’s actions and his accomplices from Town Hall, around 1400 people were left without property, states Vasile Şincariuc.
He also claims faulty work by the justice system. According to him, judges who examine cases on this matter, use mere minutes to examine petitions signed by over 300 people and to issue rulings against the enterprise. The court has ruled “Drebozaci” Ltd insoluble, although company lawyers have provided proof that the enterprise has no debt and no reasons to file for insolubility.
Company lawyer Antonina Ivașciuc said the court has decided to annul the rent contracts over the past few court hearings, and to rule for payments to a group of share-holders in amounts over 2.5 million lei. The rulings have been appealed, and a ruling from a superior court is pending.
Vasile Proca, professional agriculturist, says that the company initially had 180 employees, whereas it currently has only 80. “The mayor of Drepcăuți doesn’t claim we want to steal Drebozaci and share amongst us, but says that he wants to make insoluble and re-distribute it differently. We want rule of law in this country, we want justice. We want for the Drebozaci household to continue operation,” said the man.
Oleg Slobodzeanu, another company lawyer, says that over the course of three years they have petitioned several state entities. However, their petitions were examined superficially upon each attempt, ruling were delayed and in many cases illegal rulings were issued.
The lawyers intend to petition the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Government, requesting the Chișinău Prosecutor’s Office to investigate this matter, as they do not trust the Bălți Prosecutor’s Office.
