A number of 24 persons were killed and 188 were hurt in road accidents caused by inebriated drivers in 2015. The data of the National Patrolling Inspectorate show that persons driving under the influence caused 142 traffic accidents last year, IPN reports.
More than 3,600 motorists were caught driving under the influence on the national roads last year. Some of the drivers ignore the recommendations of the police and endanger the life of the traffic participants, even if the National Patrolling Inspectorate carries out campaigns and operations aimed at disciplining the drivers and at informing them about the risk of driving under the influence.
The police call on the passengers not to get onto vehicles driven by inebriated persons. They warn that the higher the content of alcohol in blood, the higher the probability of causing accidents is because the alcohol affects sight, judgment and reaction.
