Double murder in Balti

A cruel double murder was registered this week in Balti. A woman and a child were stabbed in their necks, and the alleged murder committed suicide. On June 17, the employees of the Balti Police Office were informed that in an apartment located on Bulgara Street two bodies were found with multiple stab wounds to chest and neck. The victims were a young woman, aged 20, and her three-year-old son. As a result of the investigation, the police officers found that the crime could have been committed by the lover of the victim who was also the father of the killed boy. The man allegedly committed the crime on the night from July 16 to 17, and then left for Chisinau. On Tuesday, July 17 he made away with himself, jumping from the 16th floor of an apartment block located on Ismail Street in Chisinau. According to sources within MIA, the news surprised the relatives and the neighbours of the victim. “He was a good man and a loving father”, the neighbours described the suspected man. Neither the woman nor the man had problems with the police before. Moreover, on the night of the tragedy, the neighbours saw them all walking in the courtyard. Penal proceedings were initiated on the case for “premeditated murder”. 74 murders were committed on the territory of Moldova in 2007, a significant part of which occurred in families.
