Dormitories to have Internet connection

The dormitories will be outfitted with computers that will be connected to the Internet. A decision to this effect was taken by the Government on November 3, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of State Victor Bodiu said this project will cover 131 university and college dorms that accommodate about 30,000 students. There will be bought approximately 600 computers. According to Victor Bodiu, about one third of the dormitories are now partially connected to the Internet. The service providers expressed readiness to connect all the dorms to the Internet under public-private partnerships with these institutions, using different WiFi technologies or radio signal. The financial resources for the project will be obtained from the development partners and from budgetary allocations. The dormitories of the technical vocational schools will be connected to the Internet at the next stage.
