Dorin Chirtoaca remains without two counselors

Two of Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca's counselors tendered their resignations. Veaceslav Bulat and Oleg Cernei had to give up their positions after several amendments came into effect under which the position of mayoral counselor and that of municipal councilor aren't compatible, Info-Prim Neo reports. Veaceslav Bulat, former counselor on economic issues, apologized to his colleagues if he exaggerated in regard of the staff statutes. “I assure you that I will support in the Municipal Council all the projects I have started, such as the creation of municipal enterprises and the opening of public private partnerships”, Bulat stated at the City Hall meeting on Monday. Oleg Cernei, former counselor on social issues, was visibly downhearted at having to give up this position. He stated however that the personal involvement mattered more than the office. “The citizens of Chisinau know that I'm an uncomfortable person. I convinced myself that we have a system that doesn't function administratively. This system doesn't motivate and doesn't repay the effort properly. I had a wage of 1,200 lei. I think the Council should discuss the new organizational chart and the new wage system”, said Cernei. He thanked the Mayor for his trust and assured him of his further support. Cernei and Bulat were appointed counselors of the Mayor of Chisinau at the beginning of the year. They are both members of the Liberal Party's group in the Municipal Council.
