“Red means garbage (red is the color of the PCRM – e.n.). These are not my words. Those who took part in “Come on, Moldova” said it,” Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca stated in Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, where the initiators of the ecological project “Come on, Moldova” presented an online map with the dirtiest places in Moldova, marked with red flags, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In another development, Dorin Chirtoaca replied to the PLDM’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Victor Bodiu. He said that a mayor must not stay in his office, but do fieldwork. In the April 10 congress of the PLDM, Victor Bodiu said that he is an absolute technocrat and does not want to govern the City Hall, but to administer it. He also said that he will not populate the lake in Valea Morilor Park with dolphins and mermaids and will not drive trolleybuses, making reference to Dorin Chirtoaca.
”Being a mayor, does not mean staying in the office, but paying visits to such facilities as the wastewater treatment station and going to building sites and to see how the trolleybuses are assembled. One can get into the bus, under the bus or drive it if necessary. Every candidate has the right to campaign as he considers right,” Dorin Chirtoaca said.
The local elections in Moldova will take place on June 5, 2011. The registration of candidates starts next week.
