The pediatric and oncological hematology sections of the Oncology Institute were outfitted with equipment within a project that was supported financially by the International Women’s Club of Moldova, with the support of the diplomatic corps. The Institute’s director Victor Cernat has told IPN that the total value of the project is about €35,000 euros. Owing to this project, the medical institution received modern equipment that it lacked.
“We were donated a sophisticated apparatus for anesthesia and lung ventilation that costs €28,000. We didn’t have such equipment earlier. It was installed in the hematology section and will be used to monitor pre-transplant patients,” stated Victor Cernat.
An office for chemotherapy of the pediatric section was renovated and equipped. There was also repaired a shower cubicle for children. The section also received a vacuum cleaner and two TV sets.
About 40 children are currently receiving treatment in the two sections.
