The legislative body will donate about 56,000 lei to the Chisinau Mother and Child Institute, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Parliament’s press service. The money was collected at the suggestion of Speaker Igor Corman, who called on the MPs and parliamentary functionaries to donate their salary for one day to the hospital.
The money is donated within the social campaign “Revive Moldova” whose goal is to collect funds for repairing and modernizing the largest maternity hospital in Moldova. Earlier, a number of officials made donations to the institution by themselves.
The Mother and Child Institute provides medical assistance to pregnant women and children from all over the country.
