The Ministry of Education and UNICEF started today to distribute educational sets to the kindergartens in Obileni, Nemteni and Ivanovca villages of Hancesti district, which were seriously hit by this summer's floods, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to UNICEF, the sets contain toys, books, cognitive games, pencils, felt-tip pens, puzzles and T-shirts and are intended for the 144 children aged between 3 and 6 who attend the kindergartens in the mentioned villages. About 700 children of preschool age will receive such aid. Besides the three kindergartens of Hancesti, another four similar institutions will benefit from assistance. These are large kindergartens, attended by many children. A month ago, UNICEF and the Ministry of Education distributed by US$120 to children from families that remained without houses as a result of floods. The families affected indirectly received by US$50 to prepare the children for school. The aid is provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
