President Igor Dodon called on the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to initiate actions in support of the presidential form of government nationwide. “During over 26 years, they have done political experiments in the Republic of Moldova. We all saw what these resulted in. That’s why I urge you to realize the importance of the moment through which we go and to take the required decision. The time of experiments is over. Time has come to take the fate in our hands and to build ourselves the live we all deserve,” the President says in his call to which IPN makes reference.

“The government did everything possible to diminish the powers of the President, even if the logic of things shows the prerogatives of the President should be increased after the restoration of the direct election of the President, by the people. For Moldova, there is no other solution than to switch over to a presidential form of government as swiftly as possibly. The presidential form of government is the only chance of a future for the Republic of Moldova and we will use this chance together,” said President Dodon.

He noted that despite the massive attacks, the presidential administration managed to achieve good results for the country. The traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the Eastern partners were reanimated. The situation of exports to Russia was improved. Some of the problems faced by Moldovans who work in Russia were solved. “We also managed to restore the prestige of the presidential administration and the people’s confidence in this important state institution, and polls confirm this. We managed to balance the political situation in the Republic of Moldova. The presidential administration intervened every time when attempts were made to divide society according to false and dangerous criteria that could have dynamited the internal political situation” said Igor Dodon.
